Visit to La Crosse by PSC Commissioners, Commerce Secretary to Push Clean Energy Bill

The push is on for some renewable energy legislation in Madison. Two of Wisconsin´s Public Service commissioners and the state commerce secretary stopped in La Crosse today to tout the the so-called Clean Energy Jobs Act. PSC chair Eric Callisto says renewable energy requirements in the bill comes with several benefits for the state. He says it creates jobs, increases reliability and adds some energy security and independence to a state that has no oil, gas or coal.
Callisto also denies the bill will increase energy costs beyond the increases his commission already approves regularly in the state.
